Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026 · Applies to Reply AI for iOS

This Privacy Policy explains how Vikas Jauhari ("we," "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use Reply AI.

Information we collect

Account information

Reply AI does not require an account. The app has no sign-up, login, or account system of any kind — you never provide a name, email address, or password to use it. Instead, the app generates a random, anonymous identifier (an "Installation ID") on first launch, stored securely in your device's Keychain. This identifier:

  • Is not an advertising identifier and is not linked to your Apple ID, name, or email
  • Is used only to enforce daily free-usage limits and to verify subscription status
  • Resets automatically if you delete and reinstall the app

Conversation and message content

To generate a reply, Reply AI processes the message text you paste or type. When you do, that text is sent securely to our AI service provider (see "AI processing" below) solely to produce your requested response. We do not store this content on our servers — it is processed and discarded. A copy of your message and the generated replies is saved locally on your device, so you can view your reply history, but this local history is never uploaded to us and stays on your device unless you delete it or delete the app.

Screenshots and images

If you use the Analyse feature, Reply AI processes the screenshot you provide to extract conversation context. The image you select is uploaded securely, analysed by our AI provider, and then permanently discarded — it is never written to disk on our servers and is not stored in any database. The app itself does not save the screenshot image on your device either; only the AI-generated text analysis is kept in your local history.

Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models. Under Anthropic's standard commercial API retention policy, inputs and outputs are automatically deleted from Anthropic's systems within 30 days of receipt or generation; if a request is flagged by Anthropic's automated systems as violating its Usage Policy, Anthropic may retain it for up to 2 years for trust and safety review.

AI processing

Reply AI uses an AI model to generate reply suggestions. Message content (and screenshot content, where used) is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI model for processing.

When you use Reply AI's AI-powered features, the message text, any optional context you provide, and — for Screenshot Analysis — the contents of your screenshot, are transmitted securely to Anthropic for processing. We use this information solely to generate the reply suggestions or analysis you requested. We do not store this content ourselves after the request completes, and we do not sell your conversation content or personal information to anyone.

Anthropic's own handling of API data is governed by their commercial API terms and privacy policy. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models. Anthropic stores API data in data centers located in the United States, and may process that data in additional regions — including Australia, Europe, and Asia — as part of delivering the service.

Device and usage information

We may collect device type, operating system version, app version, and general usage information to maintain and improve the app. We track how many free replies and screenshot analyses you've used today, tied to your anonymous Installation ID, purely to enforce the app's daily free-tier limits. No message content, images, or personal information is included in this usage record.

Analytics & crash information

Reply AI does not currently use any third-party analytics provider. If this changes in the future, any analytics collected will be limited to anonymous behavioural events and will never include your message content, screenshots, or reply text.

Subscription and purchase information

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We may receive limited transaction information (such as subscription status) from Apple; we do not receive your full payment details.

Third-party services

Reply AI relies on a small number of third-party services: Anthropic (AI processing) and Railway.app (backend hosting). We do not currently use any analytics provider. We do not sell your personal information.

Data storage & retention

Usage counts and subscription status are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway, located in the United States (US West, California). No message content, screenshots, or personal contact information is stored in this database — only your anonymous Installation ID, daily usage counts, and subscription state.

  • On your device: your reply history remains stored locally until you delete individual entries, clear your history, or delete the app
  • On our servers: usage-count and subscription-status records tied to your Installation ID are currently retained indefinitely — we do not yet run an automated deletion schedule for this data
  • With our AI provider: message and screenshot content is not retained by us; retention on Anthropic's side is governed by their own policy referenced above under "AI processing"

Data deletion

Reply AI doesn't use accounts, so there's no account to delete. Your reply history stays on your device and can be removed at any time by clearing your history in the app or deleting the app entirely. To request deletion of the anonymous usage/subscription record tied to a specific installation, email us at vikasjauhari@hotmail.com. See also Managing your data on our Support page.

Security

Data in transit between the app and our servers, and between our servers and Anthropic, is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS. Your device's Installation ID is stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-backed encryption at rest.

Children's privacy

Reply AI is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your region).

International processing

Reply AI's backend infrastructure is hosted in the United States. Our AI provider, Anthropic, stores data in the United States and may process it in additional regions, including Australia, Europe, and Asia.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your information, or to object to certain processing.

Australian privacy considerations

If you are located in Australia, your message and screenshot content is transmitted to and stored by our AI provider, Anthropic, in the United States, and may also be processed in other regions. This cross-border disclosure is made in accordance with Australian Privacy Principle 8 (APP 8). Software Bros currently has annual turnover under AU$3 million and qualifies as a small business under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
